Project Description: Handmade Redesign
You will be presenting a redesign for the website you logged on the first day of class for “Show me a Website.” You will be presenting a redesign of that website and incorporate the aesthetic and user interface choices of one of the five “handmade websites” that you chose.
To understand the back-end development for handmade artisianal
websites, I created a mock-up combining the artistian website “Arbor Ville”
with a personal frequented site “Pintrest.” I was inspired by the various
navigational features of “Arbor Ville” and the trend/explore images/ideas
from “Pintrest.” Through this project, I enjoyed exploring wayfinding and
user experience priniciples with the application of repetition and scale.
Process & Struggles
I hand drew 2 low-fidelity wireframes (one of the home page (Arbor Ville), another for your selection page (Pintrest0) for both the desktop version of your S.M.W. first website and your choice of the “handmade” website. Additionally, I worked on developing layouts that combined the two websites. I also worked on collecting images and creating categories that seemlessly fit together for the scrolling functionality.
Final Product
The final product took the functionality of “Arbor Ville” with the intetion of “Pintrest.” The final product was created in Adobe Illustrator. This project was highly enjoyable through the process: research, sketches, drafts, and final deliverables.
