“A website is......”

Reflecting on my experience the internet, I created three “a website is...“ metaphors to describe my experience with websites.  I thought about how websites have changed over time, the  tagert audience of the internet, and the effects of the internet.

A website is a needle and thread  because it connects to itself and creates connection to other pieces of information.  In a greater scope, the thread is the code and the needle is the creator, guiding and directing the form the thread takes.
A website is a dictionary because there are always updates to be made and future hands yet to visit and/or change it.  As generations create new slang, or in this comparison create new methods and designs for both front end and back end development, websites are never complete and continue to evolve.A website is a shadow because only when you look for it can you see it.  A website is only helpful when someone is on the page.   Similar to a shadow, if you don’t know to look for it you may never see it (even if it’s right in front of you).

Framework

Take a 25 minute walk.  Find something within a couple of blocks from here that has a nested structure—An object/or…noun(?)that relies on framework to hold something. Something that acts as a container for other somethings.  Take a photo of your chosen framework.  Return to the classroom and grab a piece of paper.  Create your own tags to describe the nested structure of the object or space you chose.  Hand write out your HTML on a piece of letter sized paper.  For this assignment, I created blocked code for the Pylons at Virginia Tech.
